ALAMEDA, Calif. — Stan State is through 36 holes at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at Corica Park (South Course), posting rounds of 289 and 297 for a two-round total of 586 (+10), led by Ricky Sullivan and Owen Bascom, who are both tied for 35th at 1-over 145 after two rounds. Sullivan opened with a 1-under 71 before carding a 74 in round two, while Bascom followed a first-round 72 with a 73.
The Warriors sit in 16th place heading into Tuesday's final round in a tightly contested 18-team field led by Cal State San Marcos at 566 (-10), followed by No. 19 CSU East Bay (567, -9) and Colorado Christian (568, -8).
Riley Kirk is tied for 50th at 3-over 147 (73-74), Carson Diaz sits tied for 63rd at 5-over 149 (73-76), and Chase Bird is tied for 83rd at 8-over 152 (75-77). Competing as an individual, Jesse Verheul is tied for 93rd at 10-over 154 after rounds of 79 and 75.
Individually, three players share the tournament lead at 7-under 137: Denby Carswell of Simon Fraser, Dysen Park of Hawaii-Hilo and Peyton Hendricks of No. 19 CSU East Bay. The final round will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10, at Corica Park, as all teams tee off simultaneously to conclude the tournament.

The Warriors then return home to host the 51st Hanny Stanislaus Invitational on April 13-14 at Turlock Golf & Country Club. Postseason play begins April 20-22 at the CCAA Championships in Stockton at The Reserve at Spanos Park, followed by the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional on May 7-9 in Stockton. The NCAA Division II National Championships are scheduled for May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
