Softball Begins Final Four-Week Stretch with Series at San Francisco State

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Stan State continues CCAA play on the road this weekend with a four-game series at San Francisco State at SFSU Softball Field in San Francisco. The series begins Friday, April 10 with a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m., followed by another doubleheader on Saturday, April 11 at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The Warriors head into the weekend looking to build momentum in conference play as the regular season enters the final stretch.
Stan State has 16 games remaining in the regular season, including eight at home and eight on the road.

Weekend Recap
Stan State went 1-3 at home against No. 7 Cal State East Bay, recording 19 hits and scoring nine runs across the four-game series.

Katelyn Bridgeman led the offense, batting .364 with four hits and two RBI, while Ava Montesdeoca hit .333 with three hits. Nat Camarena also batted .333 in the series, and Malia Babasa added three hits and three runs scored.
In the circle, Alexandria Himes earned the Warriors' lone win, tossing a complete-game performance and finishing the weekend with a 0.54 ERA over 13.0 innings, allowing just one run on nine hits, as the staff posted a 3.00 ERA and held the Pioneers to a .300 batting average over the four games.

This Week in the CCAA
Conference play continues across the CCAA this weekend with a full slate of doubleheaders on Friday. Stan State travels to San Francisco State, while No. 2 Cal State San Marcos faces No. 7 Cal State East Bay in a key matchup in Hayward. Chico State visits Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Cal State San Bernardino takes on Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata.

All series follow the same four-game format with doubleheaders scheduled throughout the weekend, as teams continue to battle for positioning in the CCAA standings. Cal State Monterey Bay is off this weekend.

Warriors Update
Through 32 games, Stan State is 16-16 overall and 5-11 in CCAA play, including a 9-5 record at home. The Warriors are batting .255 as a team with 211 hits, 32 doubles, two triples and two home runs while scoring 115 runs. They carry a .306 slugging percentage and a .329 on-base percentage entering this weekend's series.

In the circle, Stan State owns a 3.35 team ERA with 93 strikeouts in 211.0 innings. Opponents are hitting .299 against Warrior pitching, and the defense has compiled a .954 fielding percentage.

Offensive Leaders
Katelyn Bridgeman continues to lead the lineup, batting .383 with 41 hits, nine doubles and 19 RBI, while also scoring a team-high 25 runs. Malia Babasa is hitting .316 with 31 hits, 23 runs scored and 11 RBI, while Nat Camarena is batting .306 with a team-high 15 RBI and two home runs.

Moxie Barton is hitting .305 with 25 hits, while Ava Montesdeoca has added 24 hits and 19 runs scored. Addie Meddings has contributed 20 hits and 17 RBI this season.

Multi-Hit Games
Stan State has totaled 48 multi-hit games this season, including 42 two-hit performances and six three-hit efforts. Katelyn Bridgeman leads the way with 12 multi-hit games, including four three-hit performances, while Malia Babasa has recorded nine multi-hit games.

Katrina Rodriguez, Moxie Barton and Ava Montesdeoca have each added five multi-hit games, while Addie Meddings has four. Madison Rosebrough and Sadie Salas have each recorded three, and Marley Hogue has contributed two.

Multi-RBI Games
Addie Meddings, Katelyn Bridgeman and Nat Camarena each lead the Warriors with four multi-RBI games. Camarena's total includes a four-RBI performance and a three-RBI game, while Meddings has recorded two three-RBI efforts.
Katrina Rodriguez and Malia Babasa each have two multi-RBI games, while Sadie Salas and Madison Rosebrough have each added one. As a team, Stan State has recorded 18 multi-RBI games this season.

Streaks to Watch
Katelyn Bridgeman enters the weekend on a two-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in two consecutive games, while Ava Montesdeoca carries a three-game hitting streak and a three-game reached base streak. Katrina Rodriguez has also hit safely in two straight games and reached base in two consecutive contests.

Nat Camarena enters with a one-game hitting and reached base streak, while Maggie Pyke has reached base in one straight. Madison Rosebrough carries a three-game reached base streak.

Earlier this season, Malia Babasa posted a team-best 16-game reached base streak, while Moxie Barton and Bridgeman each recorded 10-game hitting streaks.

Pitching Leaders
Alexandria Himes anchors the rotation with an 8-4 record and a 2.03 ERA over 86.1 innings, striking out 38 batters with seven complete games and three shutouts. Alexis Camberos has added a 4-3 record with a 2.83 ERA in 54.1 innings, while Nat Camarena has logged 63.1 innings with 35 strikeouts.  Out of the bullpen, Camberos and Camarena have each recorded one save this season.

NCAA Leaders
Stan State ranks among the NCAA Division II leaders in three categories this season.

Individually, Sadie Salas ranks 15th in assists per game. In the circle, Alexandria Himes ranks 36th in walks allowed per seven innings and 39th in shutouts.

CCAA Leaders
Stan State ranks among the CCAA leaders in several categories this season, ranking third in sacrifice hits, fourth in ERA, fifth in saves and stolen bases, and sixth in hit-by-pitches and shutouts.

Individually, Alexandria Himes ranks fourth in ERA, fifth in opponent batting average, tied for eighth in wins and ninth in innings pitched. Malia Babasa is tied for third in sacrifice hits, while Marley Hogue is tied for eighth in sacrifice flies. Alexis Camberos ranks 10th in ERA.

FloCollege/CCAA Weekly Awards
Alexandria Himes was named the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 9–15 following her dominant performance against Cal State San Bernardino, highlighting one of the top individual efforts in the conference this season.

CCAA Standings
Cal State San Marcos, ranked No. 2 in the nation in the latest NFCA poll released April 1, leads the CCAA standings with an 18-2 conference record and a 36-3 overall mark, riding a 12-game winning streak. Cal State East Bay, ranked No. 7 nationally, sits second at 11-5 in conference play and 29-7 overall.

Cal Poly Humboldt is 8-8 in conference action, followed by Cal State Monterey Bay and Chico State, both at 9-11. Cal State San Bernardino is 7-9, while San Francisco State also sits at 7-9 in CCAA play.
Stan State is currently 5-11 in conference play and 16-16 overall, while Cal State Dominguez Hills is 6-14 in CCAA action.

The top five teams at the end of the regular season on May 2 will earn a berth into the CCAA Softball Championship Tournament, scheduled for May 6–9 in Hayward. The tournament champion will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship.

Series History vs. San Francisco State
San Francisco State leads the all-time series 47-25 over Stan State, including a 45-23 mark in CCAA play. The Warriors are 15-25 at home and 10-22 on the road in the series.
Stan State enters the weekend looking to snap a five-game skid against the Gators, with San Francisco State winning eight of the last 10 meetings dating back to 2023.

The last match-up came in April 2025 in Turlock, where the Gators swept the four-game series. Stan State's last win in the series was a 5-4 victory on March 30, 2024.

The Warriors' largest margin of victory in the series was a 6-0 win on April 23, 2011, while the closest margin was a 5-4 win on March 30, 2024.

Since the first meeting on April 11, 2008, the two teams have combined for 211 runs in the series, averaging 2.93 runs per game.

Scouting San Francisco State
San Francisco State enters the weekend with a 17-18 overall record and a 7-9 mark in CCAA play, including a 4-2 record at home. The Gators are hitting .307 as a team with 286 hits, 49 doubles, two triples and eight home runs while scoring 199 runs. They carry a .389 slugging percentage and a .390 on-base percentage.

Shaunessy Cardwell leads the lineup, batting .408 with 40 hits, 14 doubles, three home runs and 23 RBI. Kate Nelson and Marissa Jordan are each hitting .348, while Ashley Rocha is batting .337 with 33 hits and 20 RBI. Olivia Mares has scored a team-high 31 runs and leads the team with 31 stolen bases.

In the circle, San Francisco State owns a 5.80 team ERA and is allowing opponents to hit .332. Alexis Perez leads the staff with an 11-7 record and a 5.08 ERA in 122.2 innings, while Kharime Caratachea has added five wins.

Defensively, the Gators are fielding .954 as a team.

Up Next
Stan State continues its four-game road series at San Francisco State on Friday and Saturday before returning home to host Cal State Monterey Bay in a four-game CCAA series on April 17–18 at Warrior Softball Field.
The Warriors will then travel to Cal State Dominguez Hills for a four-game series on April 24–25 before wrapping up the regular season at home against Cal Poly Humboldt on May 1–2. Senior Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at Warrior Softball Field, where the Warriors will recognize Malia Babasa, McKenna Beach and Emily Bigley.
