CERES, Calif.--- Following his standout performance at the Kim Duyst Twilight, Stan State sophomore Jackson Oliveira has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Oliveira finished second overall in the 8K with a time of 24:05.5 Saturday at River Oaks Golf Course. He was the top collegiate finisher in the field, trailing only unattached runner Emmanuel Leblond, who won the race in 23:48.0.

The Oakdale, Calif., native led the Warriors to a third-place finish with 51 points. Stan State was the top NCAA Division II team in the 10-team field, finishing ahead of fellow Division II programs San Francisco State and Dominican.

Oliveira was once again joined at the front of the Stan State lineup by his twin brother, Mason. Mason Oliveira finished fourth overall in 24:29.6, giving the Warriors two of the first four finishers. The twins have now been Stan State's top two finishers in each of the team's first two races of the season.

At the season-opening USF Invitational, Jackson Oliveira was the Warriors' top finisher, placing 11th in 24:30.0. Mason followed in 30th at 25:00.9. Jackson improved his time by nearly 25 seconds at the Kim Duyst Twilight while moving up nine places overall.

The honor is the first FloCollege/CCAA Runner of the Week award for a Stan State men's cross country student-athlete since Tanner Gerhart earned the recognition in 2024.

The Warriors entered the season ranked No. 8 in the USTFCCCA West Region preseason rankings. The next edition of the regional rankings is scheduled to be released Tuesday.

Stan State returns to competition on Saturday, October 17, at the Bronco Invitational at the Bayland Regional Course in Sunnyvale, Calif.. The meet is scheduled to begin at 8:45 am. and will be the Warriors' final competition before the CCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 7 in San Bernardino.
