NEW ORLEANS, La.---The Stan State men's cross country team remains ranked No. 8 in the West Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings.
The Warriors were also ranked No. 8 in the previous poll. The first USTFCCCA national rankings of the season will be released Tuesday on the USTFCCCA website.
Stan State is coming off a third-place finish at Saturday's Kim Duyst Twilight at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres. The Warriors scored 51 points and were the top NCAA Division II team in the 10-team field.
Jackson Oliveira finished second overall in 24:05.5 as the top collegiate finisher, while twin brother
Mason Oliveira placed fourth in 24:29.6.
Guardave Pandher finished 12th overall in 24:52.1, giving Stan State three runners among the top 12.
Quentin Clarke placed 24th in 25:22.4, and
Tanner Gerhart rounded out the Warriors' scoring five with a 29th-place finish in 25:35.8.
Jace Campos finished 30th in 25:38.1.
Following his performance at the Kim Duyst Twilight,
Jackson Oliveira was named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. It was the first weekly conference honor of his career.
The West Region rankings are:

- Cal Poly Pomona (previously No. 3)
- Western Oregon (previously No. 5)
- Biola (Calif.) (previously No. 4)
- Alaska Anchorage (previously No. 6)
- Northwest Nazarene (previously No. 7)
- Stan State (previously No. 8)
- Cal State San Marcos (previously No. 9)
- Westmont (Calif.) (previously No. 10)
Stan State will return to competition Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale. The race begins at 8:45 a.m. at the Baylands Regional Course.
The Warriors will then compete at the CCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 7 in San Bernardino, followed by the NCAA Division II West Regional on Nov. 21 in Sacramento and the NCAA Division II National Championship on Dec. 4 in Lawrence, Kan.
