Stan State Athletics continues its fall schedule with men's and women's soccer on the road and volleyball opening its home schedule with a CCAA Pod Weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena. Volleyball hosts San Francisco State on Thursday at 5 p.m. for Alopecia Awareness Night, while San Francisco State faces Cal State East Bay in a neutral-site match Friday at 5 p.m. The Warriors conclude the Pod Weekend against Cal State East Bay on Saturday at 3 p.m. for Camper Reunion Day. Men's and women's soccer travel to nationally ranked Cal State LA on Friday, with the men facing No. 1 Cal State LA at 4 p.m. and the women taking on No. 25 Cal State LA at 7 p.m. Both teams conclude the weekend Sunday at Cal State San Marcos, with the women kicking off at 11 a.m. and the men at 2 p.m.

Men's Golf Finishes Second at Wildcat Classic, Sets School Records
Stan State opened the 2026-27 season with a second-place finish at the Wildcat Classic, shooting a school-record 34-under-par 830 (276-271-283) at Peach Tree Country Club. The Warriors' second-round 271 also established a program record for the lowest team round. Mason Montgomery led Stan State with a sixth-place finish at 9-under 207, tying for the sixth-lowest three-round score in program history. Riley Kirk tied for 11th at 7-under, while Carson Diaz, Ricky Sullivan and Ryan Giardino each tied for 13th at 6-under.

The Warriors return to competition Oct. 5-6 at the RCA Electric Fall Invitational in Monterey before competing at the Otter Invitational Oct. 12-13 in Seaside.

Women's Soccer Opens CCAA Play 2-0
Stan State opened CCAA play with a pair of home victories, defeating Cal State Monterey Bay 2-1 on Friday and Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-0 on Sunday to improve to 3-1-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA. The Warriors scored five goals during the weekend, with Olivia Maragos leading the way with two goals and an assist. Hibah Elbeshity, Kyndra Obermeyer and Franchesca Maiden also scored, while Aliah Avila recorded two assists. Zara Mujica made 12 saves and allowed just one goal over the two matches, including a shutout against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Maragos leads Stan State with three goals and eight points this season, while Avila has two goals and two assists for six points. Mujica has three shutouts, 29 saves and a 0.67 goals-against average. The Warriors hit the road this week to face No. 25 Cal State LA on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. before visiting Cal State San Marcos on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m.

Women's Cross Country Moves Up to No. 11 Nationally
Stan State moved up one spot into a tie for No. 11 in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Coaches' Poll and remains No. 2 in the West Region. The Warriors are coming off their second consecutive Kim Duyst Twilight championship, where they scored 22 points and finished 11 points ahead of NCAA Division I UC Santa Barbara. Stevie Holguin captured the individual 6K title in 20:41.4 and was named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week.

The next USTFCCCA regional rankings will be released Sept. 29, followed by the national rankings Sept. 30. Stan State returns to competition Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Course in Sunnyvale, with the women's race scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Men's Cross Country Remains No. 8 in West Region
Stan State remains No. 8 in the latest USTFCCCA West Region rankings after finishing third at the Kim Duyst Twilight and as the top NCAA Division II team in the 10-team field. Jackson Oliveira finished second overall and was the top collegiate finisher in 24:05.5, while twin brother Mason Oliveira placed fourth in 24:29.6 and Guardave Pandher finished 12th in 24:52.1. Jackson Oliveira was also named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the first time in his career.

The next USTFCCCA regional rankings will be released Sept. 29, followed by the national rankings Sept. 30. Stan State returns to competition Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Course in Sunnyvale, with the men's race scheduled for 8:45 a.m.

Volleyball Defeats Chico State, Returns Home for CCAA Pod Weekend
Stan State earned its first CCAA victory of the season with a 3-1 win at Chico State on Saturday, improving to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Emily Meyer led the Warriors with 16 kills while hitting .316, while Rylee Szyszka had 13 digs and four service aces. Through 10 matches, Lauren Gonzales leads Stan State with 97 kills, Reagan Wilkerson has a team-high 211 assists and Leah Mendoza leads with 126 digs. Lauren Hamilton leads the Warriors with 42 total blocks while hitting a team-best .335.

The Warriors host San Francisco State on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. for Alopecia Awareness Night before facing Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m. for Camper Reunion Day as part of a CCAA Pod Weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena. Both matches will count toward Stan State's overall record but not its CCAA record.

Men's Soccer Earns Pair of Draws to Open CCAA Play
Stan State opened CCAA play with a pair of home draws, tying Cal State Monterey Bay 1-1 on Friday before battling Cal State Dominguez Hills to a scoreless draw Sunday. Adrian Yepez scored the Warriors' goal against Monterey Bay off an assist from Michael Daley, while Dylan Isasi allowed just one goal over the two matches and recorded his second shutout of the season against Cal State Dominguez Hills. Stan State outshot its opponents 24-17 during the weekend and moves to 2-2-4 overall and 0-0-2 in the CCAA.

Alexis Cervantes leads Stan State with five goals and 10 points, while Yepez has two goals and a team-high four assists. Isasi has 22 saves and two shutouts through eight matches. The Warriors hit the road this week to face No. 1 Cal State LA on Friday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. before visiting Cal State San Marcos on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m.

Fall Season Tickets Available for Warrior Athletics
Season tickets for the 2026 fall season are available for Warrior Athletics home events. Family passes are $120 and include admission for two adults and up to four children, while individual season tickets are $60. Single-game tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 5-17 and seniors ages 55 and older. Stan State Athletics will be cashless for all ticket purchases during the 2026-27 academic year.
