TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stan State men's golf team, volleyball's Emily Meyer and women's soccer's Olivia Maragos have been named this week's Stan State Housing and Residential Life Warriors of the Week after leading their respective teams to standout performances.

The men's golf team set a school record while finishing second at the Wildcat Classic, Meyer recorded a career-high 16 kills to lead volleyball to its first CCAA victory of the season, and Maragos recorded five points in a 3-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills as women's soccer opened conference play with a 2-0 record.

MEN'S GOLF TEAM
Stan State turned in a record-setting performance at the Wildcat Classic at Peach Tree Country Club in Marysville, finishing second with a school-record three-round score of 34-under-par 830.

The Warriors carded rounds of 276-271-283, with their second-round 271 establishing a new program record for the lowest team round. The opening-round 276 also tied for the third-lowest team round in program history. 

Mason Montgomery led Stan State individually, finishing sixth at 9-under 207 after rounds of 68-70-69. Montgomery recorded 17 birdies during the tournament, while his 207 tied for the sixth-lowest individual tournament score in program history.

Riley Kirk tied for 11th at 7-under 209, while Carson Diaz, Ricky Sullivan and Ryan Giardino each tied for 13th at 6-under 210. All five Warriors in the scoring lineup finished the tournament under par.

Stan State finished eight strokes behind No. 23 Chico State and eight strokes ahead of Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay, which were both receiving votes in the preseason national poll. The Warriors also finished 13 strokes ahead of No. 25 Cal State San Marcos.

The Warriors return to action Oct. 5-6 at the RCA Electric Fall Invitational in Monterey.

EMILY MEYER – VOLLEYBALL
Meyer led Stan State to its first CCAA victory of the season with a career-high 16 kills in the Warriors' four-set road victory at Chico State.

Meyer recorded her 16 kills on 38 attempts with just four errors for a .316 hitting percentage. She accounted for more than a third of Stan State's 47 kills and finished with a match-high 16 points.
Behind Meyer's offensive performance, the Warriors defeated Chico State 25-12, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20. Stan State hit .227 as a team while holding the Wildcats to a .119 hitting percentage.

Meyer and the Warriors return to action Thursday, Sept. 24, when they open their home schedule against San Francisco State at 5 p.m. at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena. The match will be Stan State's Alopecia Awareness Night. The Warriors will also host Cal State East Bay at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, as part of the CCAA pod weekend. Saturday's match will be Camper Reunion.

OLIVIA MARAGOS – WOMEN'S SOCCER
Maragos helped Stan State open CCAA play with a 2-0 record, highlighted by a five-point performance in the Warriors' 3-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills.  Maragos recorded her first brace of the season and the second of her career against the Toros. She scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and added an assist for a match-high five points. Both of Maragos' career two-goal performances have come against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The sophomore forward also helped the Warriors secure a 2-1 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay as Stan State won both matches during the opening weekend of CCAA play.

Maragos and the Warriors take their five-match unbeaten streak on the road this weekend for a pair of CCAA matches. Stan State will face No. 25 Cal State Los Angeles at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, at University Stadium in Los Angeles before traveling to face Cal State San Marcos at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at The Cage in San Marcos.
