TURLOCK, Calif.--- Women's soccer's Aliah Avila and volleyball's Fallon Freeman have been named this week's Stan State Housing and Residential Life Warriors of the Week after standout performances for their respective teams.
Avila scored the game-winning goal in the Warriors' 2-1 road victory over then No. 14 Cal State Los Angeles, while Freeman led Stan State offensively during its two-match home weekend, including a career-high performance in the Warriors' five-set victory over Cal State East Bay.

ALIAH AVILA – WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Warrior forward helped Stan State split its CCAA road weekend, highlighted by the game-winning goal in the Warriors' 2-1 victory at No. 14 Cal State Los Angeles.

With Stan State leading 1-0, Avila scored an unassisted goal in the 69th minute to give the Warriors a two-goal advantage. The goal proved to be the game-winner after Cal State LA scored later in the second half. It was Avila's third goal of the season and second game-winning goal of the year.

The goal was also the 20th of Avila's Warrior career, moving her into a tie for fifth in program history. Her 13th career game-winning goal moved her into sole possession of second place in the Stan State record book.

Over the two-match weekend, the Warrior forward finished with one goal, three shots and two shots on goal over 165 minutes.

Stan State returns home Friday, Oct. 2, to host Cal State San Bernardino at 7 p.m. at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors will then travel to Alameda to face Cal State East Bay on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m.

FALLON FREEMAN – VOLLEYBALL
The Warrior outside hitter led Stan State offensively during its two-match home weekend, totaling 32 kills over eight sets while averaging 4.00 kills per set and hitting .412.

Freeman committed just four attack errors on 68 attempts and totaled a team-high 33.5 points. She also contributed 18 digs and three block assists during the two matches.

Her weekend was highlighted by a career-high in kills in the Warriors' five-set victory over Cal State East Bay. The performance helped Stan State close the weekend with a 27-25, 10-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-6 victory.

Earlier in the weekend, Freeman recorded nine kills with just one error on 17 attempts for a .471 hitting percentage against San Francisco State.

Stan State returns to CCAA play with a pair of road matches in the Bay Area. The Warriors will face San Francisco State on Friday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m. in San Francisco before traveling to Cal State East Bay for a 5 p.m. match on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Hayward.
