TURLOCK --- Lizzy Prescott tossed two complete game shutouts and fanned a total of 15 Warriors as No. 6 Humboldt State swept Cal State Stanislaus, 2-0 and 6-0, Friday at Warrior Softball Field.

The doubleheader sweep boost the Lumberjacks record to 13-4 overall and 6-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors dropped to 5-11 and 2-4 in the CCAA.

In the opener, Prescott out-dueled Stanislaus ace Jessica Gaumnitz to help the Lumberjacks. Gaumnitz also went the distance and allowed two runs on four hits and struck out three. She gave up two doubles to Natalie Galletly and a solo homer to Nikki Ketteringham in the sixth.

Offensively for the Warriors, they left seven runners on base, including a golden scoring opportunity in the sixth inning. With one out, Meghan Franksen singled and Casey Stephenson was hit by a pitch. After a Jen Arnold sac bunt to advance the runners, Jessica Scholl hit a bomb to left but was caught at the warning track.

In the nightcap, Humboldt State scored four times on four hits and two Warrior errors to jump out to a 4-0 lead. The Warriors was the shut down again by Prescott, scattering five singles. The Warriors threaten in the sixth inning with three straight singles after one out. However, Prescott got a strike out and an infield pop-up to end the inning.

Arnold gave up six runs, five of them earned, and allowed seven hits.

Galletly finished the day with four hits and drove in four runs to lead the Lumberjacks.

The same two teams will return on Saturday for another conference doubleheader, starting at 11 a.m.
