TURLOCK -- Senior ace Marquis Fleming showed Friday that he is as hot as the No. 12 Cal State Stanislaus Warriors team is, as he won his sixth-straight decision and threw his fourth complete game victory in a 5-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay at Warrior Field.

Fleming only gave up three hits and struck out 10 in his second complete game shutout of the season. The performance lowered his season ERA to 1.69 and moved his record to 6-1.

The Warriors improve to 18-5 overall and 11-2 in the CCAA. The team has now won 13 of it's last 15 games. The Otters fall to 7-13 overall and 5-8 in the CCAA.

Junior left fielder Kyle Loretelli went 1-for-4 Friday to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Loretelli's only hit was a big one, a three-run homerun to deep center field that put the Warriors up 4-0 in the third inning. He has now homered in three straight games and four of his last five dating back to March 7.

Cal State Monterey Bay starter Nadav Poringer pitched well in the loss, striking out nine and limiting the Warriors to one run and three hits outside of their big fourth inning. Poringer gave up four straight hits in the fourth that culminated in Loretelli's homerun. Dennis Wolfe bunt singled home Dante Palacios for the Warriors' first run of the inning right before the homerun.

Palacios was 3-for-4 on the day with a double and a run scored. Shea Davis, Andrew Marquardt and Jeff Bernacil were the only Otters to get hits off of Fleming.

With his 10 strikeouts, Fleming moves into second place on the Warriors' career top 10 list for strikeouts with 234. The win also ties him for fourth on the career list for wins with 23.

The four game series continues this weekend as action shifts to Seaside Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon. The teams will return to Warrior Field for the series finale on Sunday with a single game starting at noon.
