ROHNERT PARK — Cal State Stanislaus won twice on Saturday to complete a four-game CCAA sweep of Sonoma State at Seawolf Field in Rohnert Park.  The Warriors won 8-0 in five innings in the opener and 4-2 in game two.

With the four-game sweep of SSU, the Warriors improved to 15-15 overall and 12-8 CCAA. Cal State Stanislaus jumps up to third place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, just one game behind UC San Diego, heading into next weekend's Tournament of Champions presented by Mizuno at Turlock's Pedretti Park.

Cal State Stanislaus has now won 10 of its last 12 games and has swept its CCAA opponents in two of the last three weekends.

The Warriors erupted for eight runs in the five-inning opener. Stanislaus scored twice in the second, twice in the third, once in the fourth, and three times in the fifth inning to take the shutout win. Alicia Reid was 3-for-3 and Jessica Scholl and Alyssa Guzman drove in two runs each. Britney Borba went 2-for-3 in game one with a double.

Jessica Gaumnitz was solid in the circle, allowing just two hits in five shutout innings.  Kayla Ledford was tagged with the loss for Sonoma State after throwing two innings and allowing four runs. Gaumnitz threw a three-hit shutout and struck out 11 in Friday's game one win over Sonoma State.

Sonoma State (9-18 overall, 1-13 CCAA) was held to just seven hits total in the first three games of the series.

In the nightcap, Cal State Stanislaus took a 3-0 lead in the fifth on RBI's by Scholl, Reid, and Sarah Shamblin.  SSU would rally in the bottom of the inning, as Nicole Cordova legged out a two-run triple to make it 3-2.  The Warriors tacked on another run in the sixth, then turned to star hurler Jessica Gaumnitz, who shut down the Seawolves in the final two innings.

Jen Arnold started game two for the Warriors and picked up the win after allowing two runs on eight hits in five innings. Arnold also had two hits including a triple. Franksen, who tripled in game one, went 3-for-3 in the nightcap with another triple. Franksen has now hit safely in 14 of last 16 games to boost her batting average to .344 on the year.
