POMONA — The Cal State Stanislaus baseball team's postseason fate will be decided on Sunday after the Warriors dominated offensively in sweeping Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday.

The Warriors swept a doubleheader at Scolinos Field at Cal Poly Pomona, 15-5 in game one and 11-0 in the nightcap. Cal State Stanislaus improved to 35-19 overall and 23-12 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona is now 16-30 and 13-20 in CCAA.

With a win in the season finale on Sunday, the Warriors will earn their second trip to the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Championship tournament. Stanislaus can also get in with a Cal State L.A. loss at San Francisco State on Sunday.

Cal State Stanislaus is also one win away from tying the school record in victories in a season. The old record was set by the 1976 team at the Division IIl level.

Freshman pitcher Andrew Stueve pitched a gem in the nightcap to go along with the Warriors' offensive, 14-hit explosion. Stueve gave up five hits in the complete game shutout victory. He struck out eight Broncos en route to the easy win. Jake Oketani was 3-for-4 and Adam Fonville went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs to lead the Warriors.

Fonville, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and drove in four runs in the opener, finished the day with four hits and seven runs batted in.

Warrior ace Marquis Fleming threw five innings of no-hit ball after allowing three runs in the first to pick up his 11th win on the year. The Warriors pounded out 15 hits in the opener and was also helped by Pomona's four errors for the 10-run win. Dennis Wolfe was 4-for-5 with a triple, a home run and drove in three runs to lead Stanislaus.

In all, the Warriors scattered 29 hits and scored 26 runs in the doubleheader sweep.

The tournament site is yet to be determined as Chico State split with Cal State San Bernardino as the Wildcats are now 23-11 in the CCAA. Cal State L.A. is 22-12. Cal State L.A. has the tie-breaker advantage over Chico State should the two teams finish in a tie.
