2/13/2010 6:59:29 PM

Lakeland, FL - The Cal State Stanislaus Warrior baseball team dropped two close games, 7-5 and 3-2 (8 inn.), to wrap up the road trip to #2 Florida Southern University.  The Warriors fall to 3-4 overall, while the Mocs are now 7-0.

The Warriors got down early in game one as the Mocs put up two runs in the first inning.  They extended their lead to 3-0 in the third, but the Warriors rallied back to tie the game in the top of the fourth.  The inning was highlighted by a two run triple by Alex Zanini.

The Mocs took the lead for good in the sixth inning and eventually held on for the 7-5 victory.  Zanini and Kory Vitato each had two hits for the Warriors.

Game two, a scheduled seven inning game, went into the eighth inning before the Mocs eventually broke the tie and went on to a 3-2 victory to complete the three game sweep.

Florida Southern was up 2-0 until the top of the fifth inning when the Warriors rallied to tie the game, scoring both runs with two outs.

Back to back RBI singles by Corey Conflenti and Colton Beatty knotted the game and would turn out to be the last runs scored by the Warriors.

Vinny Pacchetti pitched 4.1 innings allowing three hits and two runs and Eric Cendejas took the loss giving up his only two hits in the eight inning, after 2.2 innings of hit less pitching.

Conflenti and Vitato each had six hits in the three game series.

The Warriors begin CCAA play next weekend as they travel to Cal State L.A. for a four game series.
