Rescheduling games around the weather is a fact of life for baseball in February and this weekend is no different as the Warriors will wait to take on Holy Names a day later than scheduled. The four-game series will start in Oakland on Sunday before shifting to Turlock on Monday.

Series Notes: The Warriors and the Hawks are meeting for just the second time. They played a four-game set in 2015 with each team winning twice. Stanislaus won games one and four of the series … The first two games of that series were played here in Turlock before a Sunday doubleheader in Oakland. The first three games of that series were each decided by one-run.
Kron Named CCAA Top Pitcher: Jordan Kron received the first CCAA Pitcher of the Week award of the season this week after a stellar 2017 debut. The senior ace threw eight innings in the win over Fresno Pacific. He didn't allow an earned run and struck out eight batters.
Solid Pitching Staff, So Far: The Warriors pitching were key to last week's 3-1 series win over Fresno Pacific as all three of four starters threw at least five innings. These three starters —

l — gave up four earned runs in 18 2/3 innings of work for a 1.98 ERA and recorded 15 strikeouts … Out of the bullpen,

Spread Offense: Eight Warriors are batting .353 or better with
John Holleran leading with a .429 average among regular players (two Warriors are batting .667 after three at-bats) … In the leadoff spot,
Nick Ippolito has a team-best six hits, followed by
Gino Franceschetti's five. Franceschetti's batting .385 (5-for-13 with a double and homer) and leads the team with six runs batted in.
A Little Bit of Power: John Holleran,
Gino Franceschetti and
Kyle Nixon all homered in games last Sunday. Holleran and Nixon homered on the first pitch they saw and Franceschetti's was on a 3-1 count.
Small Ball: The Warriors already have six sac bunts this season with catcher
Ethan Utler laying down the bunt successfully three times, including a safety squeeze in the seventh inning of the season opener last Saturday in Fresno.
About Holy Names (2-2): The Hawks opened at home in a four-game set against Cal State Dominguez Hills and split the series winning the middle two games (both one-run games) … HNU's schedule game against Sonoma State on Tuesday was canceled due to rain … Branson Umbarger is the current hitting leader at .357 with five hits and scored five runs … Nick Snyder has homered twice … Aiden McIntyre has a 1.13 ERA after going eight innings and gave up just a run on five hits. He struck out 10 Toros and was named the PacWest Pitcher of the Week. He got the no-decision in Holy Names' 2-1 11-inning win last Friday.
