Warriors host Cal State San Bernardino in three-game set

The Warriors are back home this weekend as they host a three-game series against Cal State San Bernardino ahead of Easter Sunday.

SERIES NOTES: The Warriors swept Cal State San Bernardino here in Turlock in a four-game set in 2015. CSUSB went 2-1 at home a year ago, snapping a six-game skid against Stan State. CSUSB leads the series 40-31 all-time.

NEW SAVES LEADER: Nick Voumard became the Warriors' new single season saves leader with his ninth save last Sunday. He had became the program's career saves leader on March 25 in Pomona when he recorded his 11th career save. He now has 12 in the last two seasons.

BULLPEN WINS: Warrior starters have not recorded a win since March 25 when Cody Kruip earned the victory at Cal Poly Pomona. Stan State is 2-5 since that game and both games were credited to the bullpen.

GETTING ON BASE: Kyle Nixon has reached base safely in 18 straight games. He ended a 15-game hitting streak (.328, 19-for-58, 3 doubles, 3 homers, 10 RBI, 7 walks) on Sunday.

CCAA LEADERS: Charlie Gaff leads the conference with 15 sac bunts … Nick Voumard tops the league with nine saves … Stewart Alexander has the third best ERA in the conference with a 1.64. Jordan Kron is fourth with a 1.95.

CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO (10-25, 8-16 CCAA) NOTES: The Coyotes lost their last CCAA series (0-3) at home against Sonoma State. They are coming off a 17-8 win over Concordia Irvine on Tuesday … As a team, CSUSB bats .256, second lowest in the CCAA (Stan State is last with a .249 average in CCAA games). The Coyotes also have the third worst team ERA of 5.24.
