Stanislaus State Athletics

In 1986 Cliff was selected as one of the top five athletes in the history of the first twenty-five years of CSUS.  As a member of the golf team Cliff played on three NCAA National Championship teams.  In 1979 he was selected Third Team All American.  In 1981 and 1982 Cliff earned First Team All American status.  In 1982 Cliff was named Conference MVP with a scoring average of 73.6.  The culmination of Cliff’s career was winning the Individual National Championship title in 1982.  At the time of his induction to the CSUS Hall of Fame, Cliff still held the Buzzini Tournament record score of 71-65-136, this record still stands after twenty plus years.
