As a student David began serving as a scorekeeper, statistician, and student manager for the baseball and basketball teams in 1966. He was the official men’s basketball scorer for 32 years, 31 years for baseball, and 15 years for women’s basketball. He has also been an announcer, trainer, equipment technician, driver, statistician, assistant coach, radio reporter, and scoreboard operator. David has been employed at the University since 1973 as the Associate Director of Financial Aid/Scholarships, where he has been instrumental in helping students who need financial assistance. Both as a student and later while working full time for the University, he volunteered countless hours in support of athletics, traveling with the teams on his own time and often at his own expense. His commitment and dedication to Warrior athletics earned him his nickname “The Original Warrior”.
