Stanislaus State Athletics

The first All-American in school history and a four year starter in basketball, Ricky served as the basketball team captain in the ’69-’70 and ’70-’71 seasons and was named Most Valuable Player both seasons.  He held three school records in basketball and three school records in track and field.  At the time of his induction Ricky still held two basketball records, career rebounds and career points scored.  His high jump record of 6’ 10 ¼” stood from 1971 to 1991.  In 1970, during the time when Stanislaus State College was not in conference competition he was selected NAIA All American for Track & Field in the triple jump.
