Dr. Pierce served as the Faculty Athletics Representative for CSU Stanislaus from 1977-2001.  His role as Faculty Athletics Representative and his general support and enthusiasm for Warrior athletics has earned him a place of honor and respect in the history of Warrior Athletics.  In his role as Faculty Athletics Representative, Dr. Pierce was a founding member of both the Golden State Athletic Conference (1977-1982) and the Northern California Athletic Conference (1982-1998).  He also served as a member of the executive council of the California Collegiate Athletic Association from 1998-2001.  He served as President in the first two conferences and faculty liaison with the NCAA from 1977-2001.  “My fondest memories involve interacting with the student–athletes and coaches during my tenure as Faculty Athletics Representative,” Dr. Pierce noted. 
 

Dr. Pierce was a professor of biological sciences at CSUS until his retirement in 2001.  He earned a BA degree from Humboldt State University and a master’s degree and doctorate degree from Washington State University.
