Stanislaus State Athletics

Susan has the distinction of earning All-American honors in two sports during her athletic career at CSUS. In 1992 she earned NCAA Division II All-American distinction for the 5,000 meter run and for the 10,000 meter run. In 1990 she was All-American in cross country. At the Northern Collegiate Athletic Conference level Susan was conference champion in 1990 and 1992 in the 3,000 meter run, and the conference champion in 1990 in the 5,000 meter run. Susan was elected team captain by her track and field teammates in 1992 and was track and field Most Valuable Player in 1988, 1989, and 1990. In 1992, Susan was selected CSUS Academic Athlete of the Year. At the time of her induction she still held school records in the 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and 10,000 meters.
